Saint-Malo & Mont Saint-Michel

A short trip to Saint-Malo and Mont Saint-Michel with my high school friend, Wendy (who came to visit me from Florida) and my Paris friend, Béatrice.

Yum !!!

We timed our visit to Mont Saint-Michel to avoid the hoards of tourists that clog the single street up to the Abbey. Most visitors come here on day trips. So we arrived late afternoon and spent the night on the Mont. We enjoyed a quiet evening and a quiet early morning.

We stayed at La Tête Noire, a 14th century private home and a listed Historic Monument. The view from my window looked out over the bay. Photos below of the furnishings, the view and the atmosphere.

The next day we attended mass at the Abbey. During the service, one of the nuns asked Wendy and me (in the front row) if we would like to carry the gifts up to the deacon! What an honor!

Taking up the gifts, hoping I wouldn't spill the wine

Jane, This was an Airbnb and they only have the one room available for guests. It's actually two connected bedrooms with one shower/sink and one separate toilet. When I learned about it, they weren't open for reservations for my date yet but I watched it like a fox! I booked the minute they opened up my date! Our hosts were very interesting too.
